Paper Leaf Place Cards
Personalized place cards make any party that much more special. These Paper Leaf Place Cards are great for Thanksgiving or any other fall party. Best of all, they are quick and easy to create.
Materials:
- Paper doilies shaped like leaves (or any holiday motif)
- Kreinik Iron-on metallic threads in your choice of colors. We used 16 Braid in gold and other autumn colors
- Home iron or craft iron
- Kreinik Teflon Press Cloth
Instructions:
- Turn your iron on to the highest heat setting and let it heat thoroughly.
- Lay your fusible Iron-on thread at a starting point, cover with a Teflon press cloth, then press for several seconds until the thread adheres. Continue working this way, working your monogram in sections. Note: the Teflon keeps the heat-activated adhesive in the thread from sticking to your iron. Some home irons are already Teflon-coated, but the mini craft irons will need a sheet of adhesive Teflon or a piece of Teflon (both available from Kreinik).

This DIY place card looks so elegant nobody would guess you made them at home. I haven't used iron on three before I guess it works similar to the iron on appliques you embellish your denim jeans and coats with but I'll have to get that Teflon paper. Thanks for the idea.

These are quite pretty and the color used is so nice too! You could search discount and close out stores or online auction for some deals on paper doilies like these. These also would make lovely keepsakes for a few years, and perhaps you could even laminate them to make them last even longer. Give them to your guests to take home as a little momento of the fun! Great idea and very creative.... Thanks for sharing!

A paper doily Really to make this super pretty place card setting and I have never seen or heard of iron on metallic thread but it sure looks elegant enough to use at a fancy wedding at a Country Club or a formal event for guest seating placement by dressing card also with some glitter ribbon or lace or keep it simple and dress it down. I love the great idea and very little supplies needed. Why not save a ton of money on some beautiful place cards and make your own? Anyone can with this tutorial so give it a shoot.
