    Oatmeal Box Doll Cradle

    Recycle your oatmeal boxes into doll beds with this cereal box craft from Carolyn Wainscott. You'll learn how to make a doll bed using an old oatmeal container, some scrap fabric, and a hot glue gun. These easy crafts are even appropriate for children.

    Oatmeal Container Doll Bed

    Materials:

    • Recycled oatmeal or other round box
    • ½ yard fabric
    • lace/trim
    • hot glue gun
    • scissors or craft knife

    Instructions:

    1. Cut opening in side of box for doll.
       
    2. Cut & glue fabric circles to ends of box.
       
    3. Cut & glue fabric around sides.
       
    4. Cut fabric from opening to within ½ inch of opening,cut into corners.
       
    5. Turn under edges and glue all around to cardboard.

    My Grandmother taught me how to make this in the 1950s. It was nice seeing this craft here. It is really cute.

    I made this for my daughter years ago, The only thing I did differed was I used padding on the outside and inside. My daughter loved it. Then I made one for my first granddaughter who is now 14. Now I'm making one for my second and third granddaughters who is 2 1/2 and her 1 year old sister. It is alot of fun teaching them my trade.

    I like this idea but it would be nice if they could slow down the video! lol......

    I like, I remeber a pincusion chair made from a oatmeal box but dont have the pattern. FLO S.

    I'll tell you something very important!! When the lady from Face Craft is showing us how to put the cloth on the cartons, she does it in such high speed, it's very hard to tell what to do!! We haven't done so much as she! I cldn't do one from her video!!
