Tee Shirt Braided Head Bands

Materials:
- New or old t-shirts
- Hot glue gun
- Flower embellishments (crochet, fabric or buttons)
- Hard plastic headbands
- Scissors

Instructions:

Cut your t-shirt into strips and stretch to get them to roll up a bit.

Using 6 strands of t-shirt braid either loose or tight depending on the stretchy-ness you would like.

If attaching to a headband you’ll wrap the ends with an extra piece of t-shirt to cover the bottom of the cut off braid.

If making a stretchy headband you can also use an extra piece of t-shirt to cover your overlapped seam. You can cover it with a flower or button.
- Mix and match colors for a fun look and try different thicknesses.

This is such a beautiful gift to make. I love the idea of gluing it to a store bought headband. The crotchet flower adds such a cute touch.

I think one could braid the t-shirt fabric right around the store bought head band and eliminate most of the gluing. Glue would still be needed to cover the raw ends. I love this project ad will be trying to make some for my grand daughters big and small! T-shirt is so absorbant and not so expensive that when lost on a play ground , we cry!
