Best Witches Card
Here's a fun way to dress up a purchased die cut: surround it with sparkly metallic threads and dimensional beadlets.
Materials:
- 5 1/2" sq card (Foundations Paper Inc.)
- Gold textured paper (Etal Real Metal Paper, Riverwind)
- Best Witches image (Halloween Heartwarming Vintage Cuts, Crafty Secrets)
- 4" x 6" Treasure Tape Sheet
- Kreinik #12 Braid 150V Vintage Amber
- Diamond Beadlets
Steps:
- Cut a strip of gold paper 1" by 5.5". Cut out your Best Witches image.
- Carefully peel back the red liner on your sheet of Treasure Tape. Place your gold strip face-up on the tape. Center your image on the strip, also facing up. Replace the red liner. Cut out your strip and image, leaving a 1/4" border of tape around the top and bottom.
- Peel the white backer off your cut-out tape. Center the tape on your card, and smooth out any air bubbles. Peel back the red liner, and begin embellishing with your thread. Outline the edge of your gold paper and image, adding small loops every quarter inch. Trim the ends when finished. Press the threads into your tape using the removed liner.
- Place your card in a shallow tray or ziploc® bag. Pour diamond beadlets over the exposed tape. Swirl with your fingers to cover fully, and tap to remove excess beadlets.
Kreinik threads available through needlework stores or www.kreinik.com.
