Mitered Knit Dishcloth
A mitered design creates a more interesting dishcloth in this free dishcloth knitting pattern from Bernat Yarns. Natural cotton yarn matches everything, making this example a great gift. The design is easy for knitting beginners.
Materials:
- 1 ball of Bernat® Handicrafter Cotton Naturals (400 g/14 oz) #00011 (New Natural)
- Knitting Needles: Size 5.5 mm (U.S. 9) or size needed to obtain gauge.
Gauge:
16 sts and 30 rows = 4" [10 cm] in garter st.
Measurements:
Approx 10" [25.5 cm] square.
Pattern:
Cast on 81 sts.
Knit 2 rows, noting first row is WS.
1st and alt rows: (WS). Knit.
2nd row: K39. Sl1. K2tog. psso. Place marker on last st. K39. 79 sts.
4th row: Knit to 1 st before marked st. Sl1. K2tog. psso. Knit to end of row.
6th row: As 4th row.
Rep last 2 rows to 5 sts.
Next row: K1. Sl1. K2tog. psso. K1. 3 sts.
Next row: Knit.
Next row: K3tog. Fasten off.
