Mini Floral Canvases
You can get your mom flowers for Mother's Day, but that would be boring. Instead, make her Mini Floral Canvases from Tiffany Windsor - no water required! Homemade Mother's Day crafts are a fun and inexpensive way to show how much you care.
Materials:
- Aleene’s Collage Pauge
- Aleene’s Super Thick Tacky Glue
- Mini canvases
- Paper towels
- Tulip Soft Fabric Paint (colors of your choice)
- Small containers with water
- Iron
- Scissors
- Paper flowers
- Black permanent marking pen
Instructions:
- Mix paint and water in container to desired color. Fold paper towel in half lengthwise. Next roll the paper towel. Dip one side in first color. Gently squeeze excess paint from paper towel.
- Dip other side in second color. Gently squeeze excess paint from paper towel.
- If desired, add additional colors and squeeze out excess paint. Open the paper towel and set aside to dry.
- When paper towel is dry, iron to smooth out.
- Squeeze Collage Pauge onto front of canvas. Use finger (or brush) to coat the canvas.
- Carefully place one layer of the paper towel into the glue. Squeeze more Collage Pauge over paper towel and use finger to move around. Keep your surface of the paper towel very moist with Collage Pauge. This will keep the paper towel from tearing.Once you have glued the paper towel to the front of the canvas, add Collage Pauge to the side of the canvas and glue the paper towel in place, cutting excess paper towel to create clean corners and edges. Let glue dry completely.
- Place flower on canvas in desired location.
- Trace along outside edge of flower.
- Remove flower from canvas and add more lines along the outside of tracing line.
- Draw stem and leaves on canvas. Once all your lines have been drawn, glue flowers in place with Aleene’s Super Thick Tacky Glue.
