Reading over the pattern, and am also confused by the ss stitch? It would be so great if someone could explain that--I think I'm going to go ahead and try to work this tonight...trying a slip stitch and then with a single crochet?? I hope I can figure it out, these look like such nice snowflakes. Any help will be appreciated-

Hi there, This pattern was sent to us directly from Patons Yarn, so these are the exact instructions from their site. If you're confused or would like more information on how to put this pattern together, we suggest contacting Patons directly and asking for more information. They might be able to provide you with a chart or maybe even a video to help you create this pattern. Thanks!

I am having a hard time understanding snowflake B row 4. Can anyone help clear this up? I can't seem to get it to make sense.

I so love these patterns, especially the snowflakes!!! Please send more patterns and crafts!!!

Why don't you bring a little sketch of the stitches along with the description? I get that from German magazines (I can read that since I'm German) and it is much easier to follow. Here, I cannot follow snowflake A, even I'm a crocheter for many years.

If ss stands for slip stitch, why do you say in Snowflake A at the 2nd rnd: 1 ss in each of next 2 dc. 1 sl st in each of next 5 ch of ch 12. Isn't sl st standing for slip stitch?

It could also mean to single crochet, not slip stitch. Older patterns (and a few from over the pond) do their wording that way, but it is always best, of course, to be sure, so double check it by emailing the pattern designer, if possible.

I am having difficulty reading your directions with both the () and the [] marks. Row 3 of snowflake A is very confusing. I have made picots before, but no matter now I work it, it comes out a mess. ss in first ch 3 times? all in the same ch? I have made 30-40 different patterns of snowflakes and this one should be simple but is very hard to understand. Please help because I like the picture.

Snow flake A I can't get row 3,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

miss (this means to skip it) next chain 1 space....there should be a small little opening which is the chain 1 space from your previous round....just skip it and go to the next stitch..

what does it mean in snowflake B when it says "miss next ch-1 sp"?

pictures of each project would make it much easier to follow the instructions

ss stands for slip stitch

What does the abreviation ss stand for in snowflake A
