Get Your Jingle On

Learn how to make an adorable ornament that kids will love as well as anyone who is young at heart! The Get Your Jingle On Ornament features jingle bells, glitter, and a half dome ornament encasing all these cheerful embellishments. Most of the materials can be purchased at your local Dollar Store, and you might already have several of them on hand! Hang this ornament on your tree or even on a door knob for some magical ringing whenever someone opens or shuts the door. The weathered paint, twine hanger, and extra jingle bells at the top are all wonderful touches.

Materials List

Wooden tag
Silk screen transfer/stencil
Acrylic paint
Chalk paste
Hot glue gun
Half of a plastic dome ornament
Bells
Glitter
Paint brush
Sandpaper
Squeegee
Note: The wooden tag and the silk screen transfers I got from Chalk Couture, and the rest of the materials I either had on hand, or I got from the dollar store. This is a fun, inexpensive ornament to make, and it's quite simple.

Instructions

Paint one side of the wooden tag with red acrylic paint, leaving a white circle where the half dome will go.
Once the paint is dry, gently sand over the paint and around all edges of the tag to give it a " weathered look ".
Stencil, paint or squeegee your design onto the circular white space, on the bottom of the painted side of the tag and on the back side.
When that is dry, fill your half dome with glitter and bells.
Use a hot glue gun to place a continuous circle of glue on the outside of the white circle you left on your tag.
Holding your half dome so it's contents don't spill out, place the tag over the half dome and glue it to the tag. Wiggle it around a little to ensure there are no gaps in your glue.
Let the tag dry upsidedown for a few moments to ensure your bells won't stick on the inside of the dome.
Flip the tag over and shake it a bit to circulate the glitter and bells inside, and listen to it jingle!!
Finish your beautiful ornament with a couple extra bells on the string your going to hang your ornament with.
Enjoy your ornament that is full of movement and cheer...it's a huge hit with the kids and all who are young at heart ❤️
