This is an eight pointed star which is commonly known as The Bethlehem Star. I also make a Christmas cookie in this shape.

Lovely project. But, technically, it is a kirigami star and not origami. Origami is paper folding - no scissors. Kirigami is paper cutting.

Using card stock and maybe glitter glue on the 8 points of the star? More sturdy. OR make two and glue the point tips together?

Most people do not know what a Chrismon is and while this is a nice "generic" Christmas ornament, I am assuming that the 6 pointed star is for the "Star of David" of which Jesus was of "the house and lineage". thanks for sharing
