If you love to paint but you also want a cohesive pattern for your walls, try Repeat Wallpaper Stencils from Stencil1! These stunning stencils are designed to repeat, creating a wallpaper effect while also satisfying that painting itch. This option is also more frugal that investing in and applying wallpaper yourself, and it's so much more fun!
The method used for Repeat Wallpaper Stencils is an ingenious one. See the small triangle markers in the photo to the left? Apply four small squares of painter's tape to the wall behind these triangle markers and outline the triangles with a pencil. Repeat this process across the span and height of your wall. When finished with this step, you'll have rows and columns of painter's tape swatches. For a visual demonstration of what I'm describing, be sure to scroll down and check out the video! Ed Roth himself from Stencil1 demos how to use these beautiful stencils.
Once the foundations are laid out, you're ready to stencil. Line up the triangle markers with your painter's tape and paint the hexagons one section at a time. You should be able to move across the wall and down with ease now that you've laid out exactly where to place each stencil. The process takes care of itself!
The hexagon shape can be used for just about anything. The 11″ x 11″ square pattern stencil can even be used on floors, headboards, and tabletops; these are bold, oversized, washable, and reusable.
The stencils work best on smooth walls for a clean and crisp design, so spackle and sand over any marks that may be in your way. It's recommended that you practice on a piece of cardboard before you begin your real project, so you become used to the way you have to paint the stencil. Once you are prepped and ready to go, this project will take you no time, and you may find it soothing as you move your stencil to each section.
