How to Make a Pillow Form
Why spend all that money buying decorative throw pillows when you can easily make your own? Materials:
- Polyfill
- Light-colored fabric (I suggest cotton)
- Standard Pillow Sizes Cheat Sheet
Instructions:

Determine the size of your form. Above you will find a quick cheat sheet of standard pillow sizes.

Measure and cut your fabric to size adding seam allowance.

Pin fabric wrong sides together and stitch 3 sides together. *Note that I am using a serger.

Fill pillow insert with stuffing and stitch the last side closed.

Have you always wanted to make your own pillows but saw the price of the forms insert to put in it and changed your mind. Just make one. It is no different then making the pillow itself. Just remember that if you want it fuller cut form an inch bigger and it will be thicker. Yo can use up your extra pieces or find a cheap fabric to use. You will not see it. You can even use an old sheet too.So much cheaper than buying them and so easy and fast to make.

I thought someone was going to show me how to shape a pillow FORM. I know upholsterers do it all the time. However, your title was"How to Make a Pillow Form" Your article wasn't anything like the title. It should have been titled, "How to Make a Pillow." It had nothing to do with shaping a pillow form. It was way misleading and wasted my time, for sure! How disappointing!
