Clay Pot Snowman Instructions:
Make a Snowman Out of Clay Pots
-
Paint clay pots with Gesso or white paint.
-
Trace bottom of clay pot on the ivory fabric. Cut out the circle and fold in half then in half again. Cut the tip off to create a hole in the middle of the circle. Decoupage this circle to the bottom of the pot.
-
Decoupage ivory fabric onto the sides of the clay pot.
-
Decoupage patterned fabric onto the rim of the pot.
-
Apply a coat of decoupage over the entire pot and rim and let dry completely.
-
Use scruffy brush dipped in pink paint, excess paint dabbed off on a paper towel, to add cheeks.
-
Use the handle end of the brush dipped in black paint to add eyes. Use a Sharpie to draw on mouths. Add nose with orange paint. Let the paint dry completely then add another layer of decoupage.
Clay Pot DIY Snowman Ornaments
-
Make ornament hangers from rusty wire by bending a length of wire in half and creating a loop. Then twist the wire below the loop together.
-
Insert the twisted end into the hole in the bottom of the pot. Squeeze the loop together so that you can push the loop almost all the way through the hole. This will give you enough room to coil the twisted end of the wire around your round nose pliers to keep the hanger from coming back through the hole.
-
Push the loop back up through the hole and widen the loop again.
-
Voila! Your DIY snowman ornaments are officially tree-ready.

These little clay pot snowmen are so adorable. I like that they can also be used as ornaments. However, I think I just want a few of them to decorate my usually-bare window sills this winter.

What a bunch of cuties. There are so many resins why I should make these. First if all I have a bunch of them in my stash. Secondly, it's such an easy thing to make and lastly they can stay outside and won't fall apart in bad weather.nthanks for sharing this.

Are these ever cute! I have not seen this idea before! The use of fabric is a great way to use up some of those remnants in your stash too. Alternatively, you could also use leftover wallpaper scraps or even thicker fancy wrapping paper and since you decopage over the surfaces, they should last. You could even use some glitter or snow type coating over the white areas for further sparkle! Super fun idea!

What a fun take on flower pots. If you are not someone with a green thumb, you can repurpose your flower pots to make these antique looking snowmen. Do you have pictures of any in white? I have several ideas for those for family members that want a more modern design for their homes.
