Pringles Can Storage Container

Upcycle an old Pringles can to create a great storage container for paint brushes, markers, colored pencils, and much more. This easy Pringles Can Storage Container tutorial can be done in under an hour and is a fun way to store your supplies out in the open.

Materials:

1 empty and freshly cleaned Pringles canister
1 12 x 12″ sheet of scrapbook paper
Other decor items, such as ribbons, buttons, stickers, letters, etc)
Hot Glue Gun
X-ACTO Knife

Instructions:

First, make sure your Pringles can is clean and 100% dry. Measure the length of the can and subtract 1 inch. Measure that length on your scrapbook paper and mark it with a pencil. Cut off the remaining paper.
Place a strip of glue vertically down the canister. Attach the paper to the glue strip, leaving about half an inch of room on the top and bottom of the canister. Roll the paper around the container and secure with more glue.
Decorate your container as you’d like!

This is a fun storage can project. There's so much you can use to decorate the empty can with. You could use spray paint and give it a nice coat of your favorite colour, cover it with some fabric scraps and add embellishments like glitter stones or buttons. The possibilities are endless here.

My kids are always asking me to pick up Pringles at the store. Now I have a great idea to do something with the cans instead of throwing them away. I love projects where you can recycle something you already use anyway into something you can keep using to keep it out of the landfill.

I have made several of these using raisin, oatmeal and similar containers! But I used fabric scraps and old wallpaper! I used holiday fabric and put ribbon over the top and bottom edges to conceal raw edges of fabric, and on the side seam, I just folded it over and hot glued the whole thing, or used white glue! For the plastic lid, I added a bow! Then I filled them with holiday cookies, and the recipient got the use of the container as part of the gift! Easy, and up cycling at its best!

I have been making this craft forever and use contact paper to decorate it, among other things. When my children were younger, they decorated these for gifts or combined them with other cylinder type objects to make castles or space stations. I use them ti hold my knitting needles and crochet hooks and the smaller snack ones for the little things for my knitting/crocheting (like stitch markers, sewing needles, bobbins, stitch holders, etc)
