Dollar Store Clutch

Turn a $1.00 white clutch into something colorful and fun with the help of Rit Dye.  This Dollar Store Clutch is a fun and simple project for any craft lover to do.  Fill it with all your must-have necessities for an overnight trip or a night out on the town!  Great for girls of all ages, this tie dye bag can be made in any color combination of your choice, and it looks extra cute with the little button floral adornment on the side of the bag.  Make a cute Dollar Store Clutch for all your best girlfriends and get ready for a fun night out with your gals!

Materials:

• White cosmetic bag
• Rit Dye in Fuchsia and Purple
• Buttons from Buttons Galore and More
• Embroidery floss
• Ribbon
• Various items to fill your bag

Instructions:

1. I dip dyed the white cosmetic bag (from Michaels for only $1), half in Rit Fuchsia and half in Rit Purple.
   
   
    
2. I added a button flower with matching buttons from Buttons Galore and More (Laura Kelly’s Watermelon, Purple Possibilities and Apple Green) and embroidery floss from Coats and Clark."
   
   
    
3. I tied a piece of ribbon to the zipper and filled the bag with the necessary items that might be required in the day of high school girl in despair.  And now for the fun part…wrapping it up and giving it to my beautiful niece.
