Faux Beaded Jewelry Pouch
No sew projects are perfect for crafters at any skill level. Get creative with your fabric craft ideas and make a Faux Beaded Jewelry Pouch from Tiffany Windsor. This is the perfect project for people on the go - you'll never lose an earring or bracelet ever again!
Materials:
- Fabric and thread for jewelry pouch
- Contrasting fabric for flowers and stems
- Tulip Beads in a Bottle – I used Copper and Gold
- Iron-on fusible web
- Pencil
- Scissors
Instructions:
- Stitch up a jewelry pouch by placing fabric right sides together. Stitch seams leaving small section open along bottom seam. Turn right side out. Iron seams smooth. Fold over each end to determine size of pockets and flap. Pin and stitch along edge of first fold to create large pocket. Stitch down center to create two small pockets. Fold other end over stitched pockets. This will be the front flap that you decorate.
- I used contrasting colored fabric for flower circles and used the pocket fabric for the flower center.
- Iron fusible web to the back of the fabrics.
- Trace circle patterns onto the fusible web paper backing.
- Cut along pattern line. Repeat to cut desired number of flowers and centers.
- Remove paper backing from cut circle. If paper is difficult to remove, gently bend and pull to tear paper, then just peel it off. (The glue should be adhered to the fabric.)
- Place circles on fabric with glue side down.
- Iron in place.
- Repeat process of applying fusible web to flower centers.
- Iron in place.
- Cut strips for flower stems and lay in place.
- Iron stems in place.
- Select desired color of Tulip Beads in a Bottle.
- I like to practice making my dots on a piece of scrap paper.
- Holding tip of bottle slightly above fabric, squeeze to create small dollop of paint.
- Pull bottle directly up.
- The paint dot will be peaked at this point.
- Repeat to create desired pattern. You will notice that the paint dots will settle to form a nicely rounded bead.
- Continue to add beads to complete desired pattern.
- I used a different color of Beads in a Bottle for the center.
- Continue to add dots for center of flower.
- Repeat on all flowers.
