I just saw some of these windows at a yard salle last weekend and thought they would make a cute craft idea but I did not get them. Boy did I miss out and they were cheap too. Bummer. Well I will be on the hunt again. I love butterflies and this Dream Butterfly Window is so cool. I will use fake butterflies though. This looks so easy and can be hung anywhere and would make a great gift too. I think I will add some fake bees or dragonflies too.

That's impressive! I have seen "windows" decorated in fancy stores that cost a lot and didn't look one bit more creative or better than this. However, using the dust mask, rubber gloves, goggles and fan make me a little nervous to try it. Is using the resin really that dangerous?

Really pretty! I have found recently deceased butterflies in my yard - this would be a great way to preserve their beauty for a long time. If I want to make this and don't have a real butterfly, an artificial one would also look good. I think I would really like to make this!

I think this is a beatifully way to keep nature alive,other wise would be destoryed by weather. there are to many other things that we should be concerned about.!

I am disappointed that you would be using butterflies in this project. A butterfly is a beautiful and fragile crreature and needs to be protected. This is encouraging cruelty. Why not use artificial butterflies.Do the right thing, take real butterflies out of the instructions.

I am disgusted with the use of REAL: BUTTERFLIES as they are a protected species in England and if children start using your idea we will have no butterflies left I am happy to transfer this to the Wildlife Trust if it is not altered to the use of artificial butterflies which Re more available in florist and craft shops than the REAL thing that you are encouraging destruction of I am so disappointed by this project and now have total concern for the whole website from which before I have so enjoyed Please do the right thing and change the Butterflies listed to ARTIFICIAL PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I find using beautiful wildlife for decoration to be both cruel and unnecessary. This is not a craft it is the act of uncaring insensitive people and it is morally wrong. I am unsubscribing from this site.

How do you find this cruel if the butterfly was already deceased? It's not as if she goes and kills butterflies. She however is displaying its beauty.

if your worried about killing a butterfly then do as I did as a child and find the ones that had died of natural causes but still in good shape and use it When i was a child i remember finding beautiful dead butterfly's and carry them delicately to my babysitter who would put them in between two sheets of wax paper and then put them in to a special book i recently went to visit her and snuck into her room to find that she had saved them all these years and had them framed i was touched so just becuse this says use a real butterfly wings does not mean go out and kill one you could simply go on a nature walk and keep your eyes out for a butterfly that reached the end of its life and is in good shape i never saw any where in…Read More the instructions go out and kill a butterfly to use as part of the project That was something everyone who is complaining just assumed so get off your high horse and either find an alternative way to-do the project like with a decal or don't do the project theses projects are here for inspiration if you don't like how they inspire you move on

I am in complete agreement with karinmackk as there are so many alternatives that could be used for the real butterflies- I would make this but would use a computer print out, picture, or decal of a butterfly. It is a good idea, otherwise.

I don't think people should be encouraged to use real butterflies in their art. The numbers of species in decline is already very worrying.

I really like this idea. I'm going to stop and look at old windows until I find a good one. I can really see this hanging on my bedroom wall.
