Peppermint Lip Balm Recipe
Peppermint Lip Balm Recipe

"It seems like I go through so much lip balm in the winter! I like to keep one at my desk, one in the car, and one beside by bed. I made this easy peppermint lip balm recipe to keep my lips soft and smooth during the dry winter months, and it makes several containers to keep on hand. You can make this in a double boiler on the stove.  Do not cook over direct heat.  If you don't have a double boiler, I give you some tips to make it on my blog."

Lip balm is so simple to make and this seems like a good recipe. I've made a lot of lip balm and one thing I find good to do is to use all edible ingredients. In this recipe the shea butter could be substituted with olive oil, although the quantities may need to be adjusted to insure the right consistency. Also, it is quite easy to find and use an edible peppermint oil.

Wow. looks simple to do. I have been looking for one because my grown daughter loves the ChapStick Candy Cane that comes out at Christmas. We buy enough to last until they come out again. I wanted to make the chapstick so I know what is in it myself. Does this taste like the candy cane one. Where do you get your shea butter and oils from? Thanks. Will make for sure.
