My Birthday Necklace

Have some fun on your birthday and let the world know you are celebrating! This necklace craft project by Maria Nerius is part buttons and part beads.

Materials:

• Happy Birthday Favorite Findings button set (4)
• 3 Cupcake beads (Rings & Things)
• Assortment of E beads (pink, green, purple, blue)
• Jewelry elastic

Instructions:

1. You can vary the length of this necklace by adding more E beads. This necklace measures 18”. Cut your jewelry elastic to the measurement you want for the necklace plus at least 5-6”. I used a 24” piece to create this necklace.
    
2. Sort out the candle buttons from the other buttons in the assortment. You can use the other buttons for a different project!
    
3. You can work side to side or work from the center out (working both raw sides of the elastic). Working one side to the other, thread on: 5 blue E beads, 1 purple E bead, 5 blue, 1 pink, 1 green, 5 purple, 1 blue, 5 purple, 1 pink, 5 purple, 1 green, 5 purple, 5 blue, 1 pink, 5 blue, 1 green, 5 blue, 1 candle button, 1 blue, 1 pink, 1 green, 1 candle button, 1 blue, 1 pink, 1 green, 1 candle button, 1 blue, 1 pink, 1 green, 1 candle button, 1 blue, 1 pink, 1 green, 1 candle button, 1 blue, 1 pink, 1 green, 1 candle button, 2 pink, 1 cupcake bead, 2 pink, 1 cupcake bead, 2 pink, 1 cupcake bead, two pink. Now reverse order to finish.
    
4. Knot off elastic.
