Congratulations, Susan Pickering Rothamel you have written the mother of all paper arts books I have ever had the pleasure of reading. Although this book is titled The Encyclopedia of Greeting Card Tools & Techniques, it really is a bible for those of us who just love the paper arts. The techniques are vast, yet well explained and illustrated. The tools include some things you already have in your toolbox, but you’ll discover a few new things to delight the tool lover in you!
I loved reading the history of the greeting card, but really wish the Contents had been a little more detailed. Yes, it’s alphabetical, but why not include the list of techniques and tools in the Contents so I could find what I wanted a little easier. But that is all just format, what counts is this book is concise, easy to follow, and well thought out. There are no projects in this book, but with all the wonderful photos you’ll have plenty of projects to whip up! Susan Pickering Rothamel is an award winning artist with a body of collage work to die for so she knows this genre of art and craft as an expert, but writes so the novice can also master the technique or tool. From Accordion Folding to Wrinkling, this is a resource for the paper lover!
