The blanket on the cover of The Little Encyclopedia of Baby Blankets looks so soft and cozy for myself, that it would be amazing for babies. This 96-page book is the ultimate resource for baby shower gifts. No matter what season baby is expected to arrive, the perfect crochet baby blanket can be found in this collection.
There are 17 blankets in this book that use a variety of yarn weights, allowing baby to be comfortable any time of year. This little encyclopedia is small enough to take with you everywhere you go, allowing you to whip out your crochet hooks and yarn any time you want. Each pattern comes with a shopping list of yarn, hook sizes, gauge information, supplies needed and a beautiful full-sized photo of the finished blanket.
Each pattern is made using a different stitch. Included in the book are the petal stitch, the popcorn stitch, the cluster stitch, double crochet, treble crochet and so much more. The Naptime Blanket on page 75 is one of my favorites. It's an intermediate crochet pattern that uses a lightweight yarn in treble crochet, beginning cluster, double crochet 3 together and double crochet 2 together. The motifs are beautifully placed to form a floral type pattern throughout the blanket.
Every little bundle of joy deserves to be wrapped in a handmade crochet blanket made with love.
