Materials:
- Buttons on cards
- Hole punch
- Pinking shears
- Hot glue
- Jute and/or ribbon
- Colored wire for the hangers
- Wire cutters
Instructions:
- Gather your button cards.
- To make them into ornaments, purchase some colored wire at the craft store in coordinating colors to make the wire hangers.
- Cut the wire with wire cutters in 4" lengths and bend it with your fingers to shape it like ornament hangers. The wire is very pliable and easy to bend.
- Punch a hole in the top of the cards for the wire hangers to go through.
- Embellish the cards with ribbon bows or jute string bows.
- Use a small removable glue dot to attach a bow.

Love this idea! I have so many of these pretty button cards from my own stash as well as estate sales tins...and these buttons are so pretty but we don't always have a sewing project in mind, so these pretty buttons sit in the dark tin! What a great way to enjoy them and any memories attached to them! You could even use ribbon to tie them to the tree for another option! Super creative and wonderfully nostalgic idea, thanks for sharing!

I like how outside of the box this crafty ornament project is because it reminds me of time I spent with my grandmother when I was a teen. Wonderful memories! Can you tell me where you get the button cards, my grandma used to have them, but I have no idea where she got them.

These are unique that's for sure. They are cute though. And you can get them in any color to go with your de orating theme. They do sell all kinds of holiday themed buttons. Santas, snowmen, snowflakes and ginger bread men so I may try some of them. I always add one new thing each year so this maybe it. Thank you for sharing this idea
