Outdoor Fabric Bear Ornament
"Since the Capitol Christmas Tree was coming from my home state this year, I was invited to send a handmade ornament to help decorate it. I wanted to use fabric as my medium, but it also needed to stand up to the rough winter weather. I was able to pull it off with fusible vinyl. This patchwork ornament comes together easily, and the coating on the outside makes it durable enough to hand outdoors. It’s also very large, so perfect for hanging on that tall tree!"
Celebrate With More Christmas Craft Ideas
If you enjoyed making the Outdoor Fabric Bear Ornament, here are three more Christmas crafts that you might enjoy:
1. Fabric Scrap Christmas Tree Ornaments: Use leftover fabric scraps to create charming Christmas tree ornaments. Cut fabric into small triangles or other shapes, and then sew or glue them onto a piece of felt to create a festive design. Add beads, sequins, or buttons for extra flair, and hang them on your tree for a unique homemade touch.
2. Felt Santa Claus Ornament: Create a jolly Santa Claus ornament out of felt and fabric. Cut out a Santa shape from red felt, and then add details like a white felt beard, black felt belt, and a tiny fabric hat. Sew or glue everything together, and then hang your Santa ornament on the tree for a cheerful addition to your holiday decor.
3. Wooden Spoon Reindeer Ornaments: Turn ordinary wooden spoons into adorable reindeer ornaments for your Christmas tree. Paint the spoon handle brown for the reindeer's body, and then add googly eyes, a red pom-pom nose, and antlers made from pipe cleaners. Attach a ribbon for hanging, and you'll have a whimsical ornament that brings a touch of fun to your holiday decorations.
These Christmas crafts are perfect for anyone who enjoys working with fabric and creating handmade ornaments for the holiday season. Happy crafting!
