Peppermint Treat Jar
Fill this Peppermint Treat Jar with delicious peppermint star candies and hand them out to your neighbors and friends this holiday season. Materials:
- Small paint can with lid
- Cardstock: black, orange, red, white
- Pink/red/white patterned: floral, striped
- Rub-on letters
- Red heart button
- Brown ink pad
- Circle punches: 1/4”, 2”, 2-1/2”
- Computer and printer (Vintage Typewriter font)
- All-purpose adhesive
- Scissors
Instructions:
- Trim floral paper to fit around can. Wrap, overlapping paper 1/4” at back; adhere.
- Punch 2-1/2” circle from floral paper; adhere to lid. Print “We Wish You A Merry Christmas” on red cardstock; punch 2” circle around words and adhere to lid.
- For snowman, punch 2” (head) and 2-1/2” (body) circles from white cardstock; ink edges. Cut off bottom third of body; adhere along bottom edge of can front. For eyes, punch two 1/4” circles from black cardstock; adhere to head. For nose, cut 1-1/4” skinny rectangle from orange cardstock; adhere to head below eyes. For scarf, cut 6” strip from striped paper; cut slits in ends for fringe. Fold scarf in “v”, wrap around bottom of head; adhere head and scarf to top of body. Adhere button to body.
- Apply rub-on letters to spell “noel” to right of snowman on can front.
- Fill can with treat.
