Reusable Christmas Treat Baggie

These super cute Reusable Christmas Treat Baggies are great for packing lunches and giving as gifts for the holiday season.  Fill them with yummy treats and give them out as stocking stuffers to friends and family.  Kids can also bring these reusable recycled Christmas bags to their classroom and use them to hand out treats to their peers.

Materials:

• Fabric of your choice
• Scissors
• 6 plastic grocery bags
• Parchment paper
• Iron
• Fabric pins
• Sewing machine

Instructions:

1. I made these with a towel from the dollar store.  You can use towels or fabric.
   
   
    
2. To start, cut your fabric 7″x15″ inches.  7 inches wide and 15 inches long.
    
3. Next, cut the sides of 6 plastic grocery baggies so they lay out long and flat.  Stack them on top of each other so you now have one pile of all 6 baggies.  Set your iron on low heat or permanent press.  Place a piece of paper or parchment paper on top and iron over quickly so the plastic bags begin melting slightly together.   You will have to slide iron over baggies several times, then turn stack over and iron other side so that all the baggies melted into each other slightly.
   
   
    
4. Next, pin the layers of bags to RIGHT side of the fabric.
   
   
    
5. Sew the layers of plastic bags onto RIGHT side of fabric leaving ONE end open so you can turn it right side out.
    
6. Turn right side out.  All sides should be sewed together except one end.
   
   
    
7. Next, fold in edges of  the top that is still open about 1/4″, then sew up the opening.
   
   
   
   
    
8. Next, fold end of baggie over 2 inches.
   
   
    
9. Then fold the end under so it will look like this.
   
   
    
10. Sew the right and left sides together. Do not sew the top!    This will stay open so you can put things in the baggie.
    
    
     
11. You're done!  See how easy!
