Aleene's Bottle Cap Birdie
Plastic bottle cap crafts help you go green and get creative at the same time. Make an Aleene's Bottle Cap Birdie from Heidi Borchers and display it on your desk or mantel. This eco-friendly project is simple enough for kids to make but still so much fun for crafters of all ages.
Save your plastic water or soda bottle caps and use them to costruct this project. Start by drilling two small holes into the cap. Cut small cardboard circles that could fit inside the cap and cover it with fabric and batting. For the head, use a smaller cap and repeat the process. Cut two pieces of wire and thread them through the holes in the cap. and spiral them around so they are secure. Create feet by simply bending the wire into a triangle shape. Assemble the bird by gluing the two caps together and adding feathers and facial features.
