Amanda! This is really a fabulous idea. There are many products which can be recycled to make an eye-catching craft. I am dying it to try this DIY. Really thanks, I am also a blogger. you can check my article " how to remove stains-the artistic approach".

We did these several years ago for table decorations for a Volunteer Banquet for the Meals on Wheels Program. I shrunk them all and took all kinds of embelishments up and the ladies at the senuior center painted and decorated them. One of our ladies in her younger years made hats as a living. We sure had many cute ones. Some were shaped as this others like cowboy hats, etc. We had feathered ones, flowered one, ones with ribbon. beads just about anything you could think of It was so fun. I still have a couple that I keep on my computer desk for decoration.

Amanda, I am having the same problem as many others. I have purchased 4 different kinds of coffee cups and two different black cookie sheets. I have done as instructed on your directions, however, I keep getting the Pilgrim type hat...not the wide brim as in your photo. I have purchased paint, ribbon and flowers so I would like to finish this project. Any suggestions? Thanks...Sharron sharronedler@yahoo.com

Amanda, I used the same directions for the leprechan hat for the Easter Bonnet..And no matter what I did I NEVER got an Easter bonnet..Pilgrim hats, jester hats, upside down clay pot, dented top hats, but not a single one had a wide brim as the bonnets you showed. I used 8 oz cups (had rims along sides) and 16 oz (smooth side), I tried lower and higher temp and longer and shorter bake time and absolutely nothing worked...I went through over 50..Been working on them non-stop from 10am to 3pm with absolutely NO success....WHY??/What am I doing wrong????? PLEASE answer me....emtcarrie@yahoo.com

Amanda..great project idea of the mini leprechaun hats. I question if the bottom of the hats are attached to something? Or, is this part of the cup that has melted down? Also, you stated this is done in an electric oven, what about a gas oven? Thank You..
