Designer Krista West first discovered folk embroidery on a work trip to Greece and was fascinated by the vibrant colors, intricate designs, and traditional fabrics. She started stitching designs for her own home and established Avlea Folk Embroidery to share fresh interpretations of these historic designs with the modern stitcher. Her high-quality kits include specialty fabrics imported from Greece along with full-color, easy-to-use charts and instructions, and her website offers how-to videos and a stitchers’ forum so that even a brand-new stitcher can enjoy the warmth, beauty, and history of traditional folk embroidery.
