Cowgirl Blues

Cowgirlblues is all about inspiring and empowering women to craft a colourful life. South Africa produces excellent quality wool and mohair. Its free-range and we dont practice mulesing. We also have extremely high unemployment. Starting a business working with our natural fibres and creating jobs seemed like an obvious response.  

We are an all-female team and empowering women is at the heart of our business, through job-creation, on the job support and by creating opportunities for the Cowgirlblues team and people in our broader community to learn and grow.

Our yarns are all dyed by hand, and colour has become our thing.  Cowgirlblues colours are uplifting.  They have a lightness and brightness, inspired by the beautiful Cape landscape, and life near Africas southern tip.  

Colour makes people happy, but often people are afraid that theyll choose the wrong colour and that its a big commitment, so they dont experiment.  We have developed a range of knit kits to inspire your confidence.  And our colours are available in mini balls too, each one hand wound by our team.  They are the perfect little colour pop when you want to try something new.  

The business is based in Cape Town and we ship our yarns all over the world.  So if you arent able to come and visit us in person then find us online and hopefully well soon have a stockest near you!
