Primary TechniqueGeneral Crafts
Materials List
- 18-24 store bought or baked sugar cookies (I made 18 (3 1/2 inch cookies)
- 1 tub Betty Crocker Hershey’s Cookies ‘n’ Cream Frosting*
- Optional: 1 or 2 Oreo Cookies
- Candy to decorate cookies
- *You could also just crush up some Oreo Cookies into white frosting.
Instructions
-
Set your cookies on a cooling rack set over a piece of parchment or wax paper.
-
Open your tub of Cookies ‘n’ Cream Frosting, and stir in the crumbs. If you want a darker shade of grey for your garden stone cookies, crush one or two more Oreo Cookies, and stir them into the frosting.
-
Spoon frosting into a microwave safe bowl. Heat on high power for 20 seconds, then stir. Heat for another 20 seconds, then stir. If the frosting is thin enough to pour, it’s ready, if not then heat it for 10 second increments, stirring after each until it’s ready.
-
Pour frosting over cookies, using a spoon to spread it out if needed. You may need to re-heat the frosting as you are working. Allow the frosting to set for about 20 minutes.
-
Now the kids can have fun using candy to decorate their cookies to look like garden stones.
