In the Designer's Words: "Free printable house coloring pages - a wonderful resource for teachers, homeschoolers and parents. Also a fun and educational way to entertain kids."
Printable coloring pages for adults and kids alike are all the rage these days in the DIY world. There is just something far too relaxing about shading in a lovely little picture on a quiet day. Give yourself some serious you-time and create at the same time when you download this free printable coloring page. Featuring pretty little houses to shade in however you like, the Houses Coloring Page is a relatively simple picture to print and color. Many coloring pages feature complicated mandalas or intricately patterned animals. What makes this coloring book page to print unique is that the tiny pattern allows you to go house by house rather than worrying about coloring in every little matching detail in the same shade.

Adult Coloring Book Pages: Where Did They Come From?

Coloring Book Pages

It is only in recent publishing history that the adult coloring book pages of today have become popular. In 2015, two adult coloring book pages appeared on Amazon’s yearly bestseller list and were one of the most popular items added to their well-known “wish list” application. While these printed pages to color were exceedingly popular, digital coloring book pages or coloring book pages to download were much more popular. Online crafters and designers offering free downloads saw a massive spike in traffic as well as ever-growing popularity. This relatively new type of crafting is lauded as an excellent way to de-stress, offering a creative outlet to give yourself some zen time.

Coloring books for adults saw spike in popularity in the 1960s, but these books were a far cry from the adult coloring book pages we see today. Those old school books were more subversive and genuinely more a collector’s item than anything else. Today’s coloring book pages are much more focused on mental health while the 1960s version were concerned with saying something.

I have been trying to download the houses page but cannot find it!!! I click the link that says "download this free printable page" but it just takes me to a free 7 page book that doesn't include the houses. Help!!! Sue

Hi there! You want to click the link underneath where it says Time to Complete. It reads "Click here for the DIY Craft idea". I'm going to delete that other link because it is confusing!! Thank you for bringing this to my attention, and enjoy!

I tried this so many times. I wanted to see what colors go together.

Has anyone else resisted the adult coloring page thing? I have, so far, but I like this picture and I think I am going to print it for later today. There's something soothing about the rows of houses, it's orderly, yet it allows a level of creative expression. (Or something like that.)

I love this one so much. This actually might be my favorite coloring page on the site. So simple and easy to make it your own. I've printed out way too many of these in the past week alone. Thanks!
