This monkey is so cute! I love crocheting stuffed animals and this looks like a fun one to try! For everyone that's asked/will ask about making it smaller, you don't need to alter the pattern. Just use a lighter weight yarn or even thread and a smaller hook! You could even go the opposite direction and use chunky yarn or two strands of 4 ply held together and a large hook to make him really HUGE! It'd also be fun to add velco or snaps to his hands and or feet to help hang him.

Awesome tip! Thanks so much, Debboggy! -Kaylee, Editor of FaveCrafts

Has someone made this monket in a smaller version ? If so, I'd love to see the modifications. He's cute... but 30" is Huge ! Thanks !

I made this monkey and as stated before he is HUGE! and adorable. I gave him a red bow tie. My grand-daughter loved him. Now to make number two for the next grand-daughter (she wants hers) in a different color.

I made this monkey for a dear friend who collects monkeys! He is HUGE! She loves him, and he has a place of honor at her home amongst her monkey collection. I would like to say that we are never too old for toys! We are both 48, and I loved making it, and she loves having it. : )

I have made about 15 and I love every one. I hated to give them up. but I made them smaller.

could you share the pattern for the smaller version thanks

I am really having problems with row 3-5. Please simplify.

Judy, Thanks for telling us how tall it is. The lack of dimensions in a lot of the patterns is a big problem.

can someone please tell me how to knit this? How to convert a crochet pattern to a knit pattern? I can't crochet to save my life.

absolutely love it :)

I just finished crocheting this monkey, it is so cute. I made it for a friend and now I don't want to give it away :( When I stand it up, of course I have to hold it, it measures 30 inches tall. Thank you so much for the pattern. I love it.
