"Aren't character hats just the cutest? Just take a look at all the beautiful designs out there and you find yourself 'oohing' and 'ahhing'. This crochet trolls hat is made for newborns. It can be worn as a photo prop for baby's first photo shoot. It is a simple and fun pattern to make- the hat itself is shaped as a cone and the fringes attach to it to make the hair. Even though this hat seems to be for a baby girl, it can also be made for a boy. Just swap the ribbon for a hair band OR don't attach the hair at all. Simple!"
Crochet Hook4.5 mm hook
Yarn Weight(4) Medium Weight/Worsted Weight and Aran (16-20 stitches to 4 inches)
Crochet Gauge15 stitches and 9 rows = 10 cm
Finished Size without the ‘hair’- 7” tall/5.5” wide

Love this Newborn Trolls Hat! The directions to make this cute hat is well done and easy to follow. I like the way the hair is made, but knowing that brushing your yarn you will have a lot of yarn break off and it does come out as a soft hair like product. I have made troll hats for my grand daughter and she loves it. With this pattern though, the hat come up to a point to help with holding the hair up.. So helpful! Thank you for sharing this free troll hat pattern.
