@kleshome 9592190, I'm sorry to hear of your trouble. I have two options for you: 1. You can contact the pattern designer directly for help. The designer is specified in the byline. 2. I might also suggest that you try posting your question to our sites Facebook page. It is monitored by the editor and is a great resource for helpful tips and suggestions from our Facebook friends; perhaps they can offer some guidance! This hat looks like just the right thing. If I could figure out some of the instructions. Especially those that the follow .17 rnd. "Inc 5 sc as before on every following 3rd rnd to 86 stitches". I really want to finish this bucket hat.....

to "missy crissy" I agree the pattern is confusing, sometimes it's easier to create then it is to tell "how to create." It could read 7th rnd: Ch 1. (2 sc in next sc. 1 sc in each of next 5 sc) 6 times. Join with sl st to first sc. 42 sc. 8th rnd: Ch 1. (2 sc in next sc. 1 sc in each of next 6 sc) 6 times. Join with sl st to first sc. 48 sc. My previous comment may also be helpful for you. (I have crocheted a lot of hats--sold 50 last winter.) Hope this helps.

Help is here let me start with the easiest answer For crochet student you asked what md stood for This is actually letters r n d but I see where it could easily be mistaken r n d stands for round this pattern is worked in rounds instead of rows Now for Rose Marie Barker Nations and a few others I think this pattern works better if you do not join with a slip stitch and ch try it just working in continuous rounds do not join and do not chain I find an easy way to keep track of when to increase and when I have come to the end of the round is by counting the stitches and increasing each time I get to a multiple of for rounds - that is the increase that is the three stitches the increase time for increase later rounds and you would…Read More increase each time you get to a multiple of The next part that is confusing is round What you need to do is repeat the previous rounds until you have stitches that is work rounds even no increases then one round with an increase every th stitch you will now have sts then work rounds even then one round with an increase every th stitch sts repeat these rows more times sts sts and finally sts I am an experienced crocheter and I too found the wording here confusing When I joined the rounds and chained I kept coming up with extra sts which in the long run would have had very little effect of the look of the hat Hope this helps good luck with your crocheting and never give up

After having tried over and over and over, I finally concluded the instructions in this pattern are wrong. I would love to make this hat. Can someone please correct the instructions and mail me a copy or notify me when to return to FaveCrafts and download the corrected pattern? MNations@aol.com (Rose Marie Barker Nations)

I'm sorry but this pattern does not look like the picture. The directions are not very clear. I know there are increases, but the pattern does not say that. I tore this out 4 times because of the poor directions. The picture looks like a knitted hat not a crocheted hat. I am very disappointed.

I love the bucket hat design. however, i think that for all beginning and easy patterns that are given the author should include a glossary of terms list. often times, i find patterns that i really like but once in a while the author uses either abbreviations, words or phrases that i may have not have learned yet or i have forgotten them as a result, in some cases, i am not able to either begin or finish the project. nevertheless, in the bucket hat pattern, i could not remember or maybe i just plainly do not know the term, (md and the ). can you help me with this?
