Completed it in a day. Super quick and easy. I did have to omit the v-st in between the 3 dbl, ch 3 sts. ch 2 in between instead ,Because of the 2 strands of super bulky wt yarn i used. Used Loops and Threads ZOOMBA and and smaller hook. I needed some fun color for mine ).

This doily styled accent rug is the cutest and most adorable thing! I have an idea to use a double strand of cotton yarn adding in a bulky weight yarn to make a crazy mix of textures. That is, if the tee shirt yarn is not readily available at my store. I like to inject a bit of my own art into a pattern "suggestion". That is what makes me an artist! Have fun with this one- it seems very easy to make!

I would have never guessed this rug was made out of T-shirts. That is so cool, and it's a neat way to upcycle something that would have been thrown away.

Each time I see one of these adorable rugs I am drawn to them. Perfect idea to upcycle your old t-shirts. Instead of throwing them out if they have a stain or stretched out. I think a few of these around my house would be very cute. What about hanging on your wall as part of your decor????

This project looks like it would use alot of t-shirt yarn. I guess I could just get some in the same colour. A doily rug would be so beautiful

Wow, this is beautiful! And I like that t-shirt yarn is soft and cottony. I don't know how to crochet, but I 'm wondering if I can use t-shirt yarn with a large loom and make something similar. This would be a nice summer project because t-shirt yarn won't be hot to work with. I like to craft year-round and loom knitting is one of my favorite crafts.

This would be nice under plant trays too. Or any other large items that could scratch floors. Anyway I believe I have seen t-shirt yarn in one of the craftstores here in the USA. It is similar to Bernet blanket yarn for bulk. I wonder if this could be substituted for the t-shirt yarn. Unfortunately I don't recall which manufacture makes the t-shirt skeins.

Hi Crafty Lady. Any bulky yarn will work. Some people even use 3 or 4 strands of dk yarn together.br /Have a look in this album on my crochet Facebook Page. I listed a few International Yarn Shops that sell T-yarn on there. www.facebook.com/pg/crochet.in.paternoster/photos/?tab=albumalbumid=1409610895987336

You can buy T-shirt yarn. Just do a google search. I found some at eBay. I'm guessing that you could do this with a bulky yarn too.

Thank you Zeemer. Yes. T-shirt yarn. We buy ready cut strips. You can also cut your own from old t-shirts.

I have made one of these with t shirt yarn i made myself. It is a really fun project but does take a lot of tshirts to get enough fabric to make one. I got mine at a thrift store bag sell. Youcould also get white mens under shirts and use fabric dye to color them. Over all I really enjoyed making this.
