Sea Foam Infinity Scarf

This free crochet infinity scarf pattern is perfect for beginners.

Crochet HookK/10.5 or 6.5 mm hook

Yarn Weight(5) Bulky/Chunky (12-15 stitches for 4 inches)

Materials List

1.5 Skeins of Yarn – Bulky – I used Loops & Threads – Country Loom – Ocean Tide
Crochet Hook – US K10.5/6.50mm
Embroidery needle
Scissors

Instructions

Counting in 3′s, ch as many stitches as it takes to make a chain 60″ long (this pattern calls for original chain to be any multiple of 3 so just count “1-2-3, 1-2-3, 1-2-3…” as you make the chain and make sure that your last chain lands on chain number 3). Check that the chain hasn’t twisted and join to the first stitch with a sl st so that it now forms a ring.
Round 2: dc in every chain until you’re completed the round and join to the first dc with a sl st.
Round 3: ch 3 and then sc between the 3rd and 4th dc, ch 3 and then sc in between the 6th and 7th dc. You want to keep repeating this pattern every 3 double crochets until you’ve completed the round. Join with a sl st.
Round 4: dc 3 into the chain you made in the previous round and then dc 3 into the next chain and continue in this manner until you’ve completed the round. Join with a sl st.
Repeat the pattern from Round 3 & 4 until the scarf is the desired width.
Bind off and weave in the ends.

This Sea Foam Infinity Scarf looks so soft and warm. After reading all the comments and the pattern here on this page, makes me wounder if I should use a thinner yarn? I do like the thicker yarn for they are so warm. The pattern is easy to understand and should work out well. I don't think this one will need to be wet blocked because the thicker yarns tend to have a nice bounce. I'll be making this one for sure. Thank you for sharing this free crochet scarf pattern.

This pattern looks really pretty. I love the color, and am looking forward to trying this for myself. I am wondering, though, if anyone has tried this as the comments suggest, and if you have any suggestions on adjustments that could be made. I like the look of the scarf in the photo, but with the bulky yarn does it really work out that way?

Such a beautiful, serene sea foam green color which I love so much! Working in the round is easy! It is recommended that you pay close attention to your chain to make sure it is not being twisted. Because it utilizes chunky yarn you will only need a scant 1 and a half skeins of yarn! So it is budget friendly!

This Sea Foam Infinity Scarf in very stylish. It can go along with a coat or even with just a plain shirt. I really would like to learn how to do this. If I did, I'd probably make a lot in different colors! Very nice!

This infinity Scarf looks like it would be very easy to work up. I have yarn that I will use to make this for a gift. Pattern seems to be quite easy and fun. Just finished making this scarf the pattern was very easy & worked up fast! The scarf is very thick however & doesn't look as thin & soft as the picture makes it appear. I am wondering if I should wash it or try blocking it. I know the yarn is bulky but think it would lay better with thinner yarn. Has anyone else tried washing or blocking after making this?

In row 4, shouldn't there be a ch1 after the 3 dc to keep the same count as in row 3?
