Jolly Crocheted Santa Outfit

Materials:
- 2 (2, 2, 2, 3) balls Premier Yarns Dream yarn in Red (A)
- 1 ball Premier Yarns Dream yarn in White (B)
- 1 ball Premier Yarns Dream yarn in Black (C)
- US G-6 (4.25mm) or size to obtain gauge
- Yarn needle
- Stitch marker
- 1¼" metal belt buckle
- 4 (4, 5, 5, 6) – ½" buttons
- Sewing needle and thread
- 1½" piece of cardboard
Gauge: 14 sts and 10 rows = 4" in pat. Use any size hook to obtain specified gauge.

Sweater
- Chest: 21 (23, 25, 29, 31)"
- Length: 16 (17, 18, 18½, 19½)"
- Sleeve Length: 8 (8½, 9½, 11½, 12½)"
Hat
- 16 (18)" head circumference
Special Stitches:
- Puff Stitch: * Yo and insert hook in st, yo and draw up a loop (3 loops on hook); rep from * 3 more times, wrap yarn around hook and draw through all loops on hook.
- Dc2tog: [Yo, insert hook in next st and draw up a lp, yo and pull through 2 lps on hook] twice, yo and pull through rem 3 lps on hook – 1 st dec.
- To change colors: Work last st until 2 lps rem, drop working color, finish st with new color.
Instructions:
Unless otherwise specified, ch3 at beg of dc rows counts as a dc.
Sweater
- Back: Beg at bottom edge with A, ch 38 (42, 46, 52, 56).
- Row 1 (RS): Sc in second ch from hook and in each ch across; turn – 37 (41, 45, 51, 55) sc.
- Row 2: Ch 3, sk next st, dc in next st and in each st across; turn – 37 (41, 45, 51, 55) dc.
- Row 3: Ch 1, sc in each st across; turn.
- Rows 48 (410, 410, 412, 414): Rep Rows 2 and 3, ending with Row 2, changing to C in last st.

Shape Left Shoulder
- Row 36 (38, 40, 42, 44) (WS): Ch 3, sk first st, dc in each of next 9 (11, 14, 16, 18) sts; turn – 10 (12, 15, 17, 19) sts.
- Row 37 (39, 41, 43, 45): Ch 1, sc in each st across; fasten off.
Shape Right Shoulder
- Row 36 (38, 40, 42, 44): With WS facing, count in 9 (11, 14, 16, 18) sts from side edge, join yarn with a sl st, ch 3, dc in each st to end, leaving center of row open for back neck; turn – 9 (11, 14, 16, 18) sts.
- Row 37 (39, 41, 43, 45): Ch 1, sc in each st across; fasten off.
Bottom Trim

- Row 35 (37, 39, 41, 43): Ch 1, sc in each st across; turn.

Bottom Trim for Right and Left Front

Cuff Trim
- Row 1: With RS facing and B, join yarn with a sl st in the bottom right corner, ch 1, sc in same st and in each st across; turn – 25 (25, 25, 27, 27) sts.
- Row 2: Ch 3, sk first st, dc in next st, * Puff st in next st, dc in next st; rep from * across, dc in last st; turn.
- Row 3: Ch 1, sc in in each st across; turn.
- Row 4: Ch 1, sc in first st, * tr in next st, sc in next st; rep from * across, sc in last st; fasten off.
Belt
- Right Side: With C, ch 8.
- Row 1: Sc in second ch from hook and in each ch across; turn – 7 sts.
- Rows 28: Ch 1, sc in each sc across; turn; fasten off at end of last row.
- Fold belt in half, loop through buckle and pull buckle rod through the center fold. Align the belt buckle next to right side trim. Sew in place.
Belt
- Left Side: With C, ch 8.
- Row 1 (RS): Sc in second ch from hook and in each ch across; turn – 7 sts.
- Rows 220: Ch 1, sc in each st across; turn. With RS facing, sl st evenly around outside edge of belt; join with a sl st in first sl st; fasten off. Sew in place, 1" from left side trim.
Belt Loop
- With C, ch 10.
- Row 1: Sc in second ch from hook and in each ch across; turn – 9 sts.
- Rows 2 and 3: C 1, sc in first st and in each st across; turn; fasten off at end of last row. Sew the belt loop on the right side 1" from buckle.
Finishing
- Set in sleeves, sew side and sleeve seams.
- Sew buttons opposite buttonholes. Weave in ends.
Hat
- Beg at point with A, ch 2.
- Rnd 1: 6 sc in second ch from hook. Do not join rnds; mark last st of rnd and move marker up with each completed rnd.
- Rnd 2: Sc in each st around – 6 sts.
- Rnd 3: * Sc in each of next 2 sts, 2 sc in next st; rep from * once more – 8 sts.
- Rnds 4 and 5: Sc in each st around.

- Rnd 39 (43): Sl st in next sc, ch 3, dc in next st and in each st around, join with a sl st in third ch of beg ch3 – 56 (62) sts.
- Rnd 40 (44): Ch 1, sc in each st around, join with a sl st in first sc.
- Rnds 4144 (4550): Rep Rnds 39 and 40. Change to B.
- Rnd 45 (51): Rep Rnd 39.
- Rnds 4647 (5253): Ch 3, * Puff Stitch in next st, dc in next st; rep from * around; join with a sl st in third ch of beg ch3; fasten off at end of last rnd.
- Weave in ends.
Pom Pom
- With B, wind yarn around cardboard until desired thickness. Tie tightly in center and cut loops on both ends. Trim into ball and fluff. Attach to top of hat.

This pattern seems to have a problem with the number of rows - 6 says 917 rows? Anyone know what the correct number should be?
