Lucky Shamrock Mug Rug
"As St. Patrick Day is approaching, I thought it would be really fun to make some shamrock coasters to have out when sipping my morning coffee or my nightly herbal tea. We don’t have many St. Patricks Day decoration, and I know these would also be practical, as we always have a hot drink on our coffee tables. At first I was going to crochet someone else’s pattern, but I couldn’t find what I was looking for. Where were all the shamrock coasters? So I decided to create my own pattern, and discovered why I couldn’t find a shamrock coaster, a 4-leaf clover mug rug, NOTHING... The reason: It’s a lot harder than you think to create a shamrock in a such a small grid. Believe me! Oofta! Perhaps I was wanting too much detail in my shamrock? Perhaps I was making it harder than it should have been? Nevertheless, she persisted. And less than a week from St. Patrick’s Day, I bring you the Lucky Shamrock Mug Rug / Coaster. You can choose to finish your coaster with a simple reverse single crochet boarder, or go with the more trendy mug rug route and add fringe to the edges. "
