Rustic Elegance Canning Jar Cozy Set
"There is something about fall decor that makes my heart happy. I don't know if it's the rich earthy hues, or how cozy everything looks in the autumn sunlight, but it fills a special place in me that nothing else can. This past week Fall arrived at my place, and between the just-changing leaves, and the smell of frost in the air, I felt the need to crochet something that would fit the mood. These canning jar cozies combine the rustic farmhouse feel of hemp with the elegance of lace for a unique home decor piece that you can make in an hour or so. These would also make great gifts when giving away home-canned jams, jellies, preserves, or fruit to friends and neighbors."
Notes-This pattern is easy to follow, however since it is made with hemp, I've labeled this as an intermediate pattern. It would be possible to make these using sock yarn, if you do not feel comfortable working with non-traditional materials (hemp) just yet.
-Because hemp is not stretchy, it is very important that you crochet loosely so these will fit over the jars. I tested mine on my jars every few rounds as I went along. You may find it beneficial to do that as well, especially if you have not worked with hemp before. If all else fails, don't be afraid to go up a hook size or more.
-If you find the cord is hurting your hands you may be using too much tension.

I have not crochet in awhile and never with hemp cord but these cozy are so cute I may have to try. Looklike something out of the 1900 and I love vintage things. I want to make some homemade candles for girts and these would be so cute on the jars. Says intermediate but I think a beginner can do. Super tutorial too.

How cute! My grandma and I make jams a lot around this time of year, and we sometimes can it and give them as gifts. This would be a great way to add a little extra personal touch.
