It works from top to bottom, so your chain length determines the width of the blanket, while the amount of rows you work on determines the length of the blanket. Pattern includes both written and diagram instructions. Written instructions are read from top to bottom, left to right, while stitch diagrams are read from right to left, and from bottom to top. "
