Instructions for Teardrop Crochet Hanging Basket:

Rnd 1: Work 8 SC into a magic circle and pull the circle tight (or CH3, join to create a loop and work 8 SC into the center of the circle), join with a SLST to beginning SC. (8 sts)

Rnd 2: CH1, work 2 SC into the same stitch as beginning CH1, 2 SC in each stitch around, join with SLST to beginning SC. (16 sts)

Rnd 3: CH1, work 2 SC into the same stitch as beginning CH1, SC in the next stitch, *2 SC in next st, SC in next st*, repeat from * to * 6 more times, join with SLST to beginning SC. (24 sts)

Rnd 4: CH1, work 2 SC into the same stitch as beginning CH1, SC in each of the next 2 sts, *2 SC in the next st, SC in each of the next 2 sts,* repeat from * to * 6 more times. (32 sts)

Rnd 5: (decrease round) CH1, SC in the same st as beginning CH1, SC in each of the next 6 sts, HDC in the next stitch, (HDC2TOG across the next 2 sts) 8 times, HDC in the next st, SC in each of the next 7 sts, join with a SLST to beginning SC. (24 sts)

Rnd 6: CH1, SC in the same st as beginning CH1, SC in the next 4 sts, HDC in the next st, (HDC2TOG across the next 2 sts) 6 times, HDC in the next st, SC in each of the next 5 sts. Join with a SLST to beginning SC. (18 sts)

Rnd 7: CH1, SC in the same st as beginning ch-1, SC in each stitch around. CH 12. Join with a SLST to beginning SC. (30 sts)

Rnd 8: SLST into the first stitch and each SC stitch around the basket, SC 12 into the loop created by the ch-12 space. Join with a SLST to the final stitch of the basket.

Finish off leaving the tail approximately 36″ long.

Wind the tail around the base of the loop and secure with a knot in the back.
