The De Rust Square

From the blogger: "This square is a decorative floral Block to use anywhere you fancy. Use it for a cushion cover component, a central square in an afghan design, or join two squares and add a shoulder strap and you have a perfect little sling bag! The yarn is an ordinary DK 100% acrylic. Hook size, 4mm, although any hook between 3mm and 5mm works equally as well. US crochet terms are used throughout. The finished square, after blocking measures approximately 8" x 8'. This square is designed to easily upsize by adding a few extra rounds."

I can see a lot of different possibilities for this particular afghan square. What immediately cane to mind for me was to use it as the centerpiece of a pillow cover. It would be very easy to change the colors to suit the decor of a bedroom or a parlor. This is definitely a square to keep in mind.

What a gorgeous square pattern! I enjoyed reading the blog that this came from also. I intend to follow her blog now. The designer calls it De Rust which means "the rest". There are so many possibilities with this square. I love the colors on the main pattern page that the designer has used. This would be beautiful incorporated into a baby seat carrier cover, a wedding afghan or a pillow. Really, it's up to the imagination of the crocheter. What would you use it for? I'm trying to decide myself. I'd love to have you share your ideas!

All my favorite colors combined, well except for the green but there is so little of that its okay. The squares are large enough to make a few and join together into an afghan or even larger to make a comforter. I like how there is little open holes in the pattern and it looks 3D. I would really stand out on a bed.
