Uncle Sam Cross Stitch

French knots make Uncle Sam's beard feel real in this cross stitch project! The Uncle Sam cross stitch is the perfect 4th of July craft, and it looks great displayed in your home.

Materials:

• Kreinik Fine (#8) Braid in 014 Sky Blue, 032 Pearl, 210 Gold Dust, 332 Candy Cane, 003 Red, and 1432 Blue Ice
• Cotton embroidery floss as listed in chart
•  14-count Aida (We used a light tan color) or 14-count waste canvas if you're stitching this design on a garment or tote bag
•  #24 Tapestry needle

Instructions:

Cross stitch this design according to the color key. Note that Uncle Sam's beard is done in French Knots to create the effect of a real curly-Q beard. Place the knots randomly and thick for a full effect.
