Beaded Book Totes
Need a summer craft project for kids or teenagers? This fun craft will have the kids transforming plain totes into personalized expressions. Decorate them to match a theme—like summer vacation—or personality.
Materials:
- Fabric tote from AC Moore, Michael's, or other large craft store.
- 1x sheet of 8x10 Treasure Tape
- Treasure It Beadlets® (2oz total )
- Other embellishments like faux gems; stickers, flower appliqués, ribbon scraps
Instructions:
-
Peel back white release paper from back of Treasure Tape Sheet.
-
Line up tape sheet with center of tote and press down to adhere.
-
Peel back protective liner to expose sticky tape.
-
Decorate with embellishments, applying largest items first and filling in with smaller items.
-
When you are satisfied with your design, put the tote into a shallow container and pour Beadlets® over the remaining exposed tape areas. Swirl the Beadlets® with your hand to cover all areas.
- Tap your finished craft on its side in the tray to dislodge loose Beadlets®.
Tip: You can cut your protective liner into different shapes and put it back on your tape to "block" certain areas while you decorate others. This method was used to create the sand and water on beach tote (upper left).
