Beaded Suncatcher
This is a simple project from The Bead Studio that will add sparkle to a window or hang from a tree branch and watch it glisten. You can use a crystal or a bell at the bottom - we like to make this interchangeable!
Materials:
- 019 Soft Flex Wire – 18” – 1 yard
- Assorted glass beads
- Transparent glass seed beads
- Bell or crystal
- 2 crimp beads
- Wire to fit through bell or crystal
- Wire cutter
- Chain-nose plier (or crimp plier)
- Round plier
Steps:
- Place a crimp bead on the wire. Add about 1” of seed beads and feed end back through the crimp bead. Squeeze with pliers until secure.
- Add assorted beads, spacing between with seed beads until desired length is achieved.
- Add crimp bead followed by about 1” of seed beads. Feed back through crimp, gently pull out the slack and crimp to secure.
- Use wire to bend a decorative hook for the crystal or bell – switch bottom as desired.
