Recycled Egg Carton Easter Egg Basket
Whether you're looking for fun Easter ideas for kids or just want to add a fun spin to a traditional Easter craft project, you can't go wrong when you make a Recycled Egg Carton Easter Egg Basket. This project takes minutes to complete but will surely leave a lasting impression on guests at your Easter egg hunt. The decorative ribbon adds a fun and unexpected dimension to an otherwise drab egg carton craft. Easter craft ideas are a great way to celebrate the season and show off your creativity. Best of all, you can use discarded materials like an empty egg carton or scraps of ribbon, so you can help the planet and have fun at the same time.

Materials:
- Recycled cardboard egg cartons
- Spray paint
- Wire (electrical works great)
- Laura Kelly Buttons
- Ribbon remnants
- Paper grass
- Aleene’s tacky glue (optional)
- Westcott Scissors
Instructions:
- Cut the lid and side piece from the egg carton and spray paint it. Two coats will make it brighter and shinier.
- Cut a 24 inch piece of wire. Add buttons to the wire every 2 inches or so by threading the wire through the holes and twisting it around.
- Punch a hole in each end of the carton and thread your wire ends through, twisting them to secure a handle.
- Tie 6 inch pieces of ribbon onto the handle into double knots. I doubled a few sections up to create a thicker and fuller look.
- You can add paper grass in each hole if you like that addition. If you want it to stay secure, put a little Aleene’s tacky glue in each hole first and then let it dry for a few hours before using the basket.

Lovely way to display either your traditional colored hard-boiled eggs, or some crafted eggs you made, or grandma's marble and glass egg collection for a cute Easter centerpiece! The little collection of bows all along the handle make for a touch of whimsy but I could also see doing a foam wrap with ribbon wrapped around the handle, and one large bow for a different look! It is always nice to upcycle and egg cartons are perfect for displaying eggs! Love it, great instructions!

This is a very clever little craft. And you know the eggs will fit perfectly since this is literally their former home. It's genius
