Scrap Fabric Easter Eggs
Need some craft ideas for fabric scraps? Celebrate Easter with this adorable project! Scrap Fabric Easter Eggs from Heidi Borchers are a fun and easy way to decorate for a party or family gathering. Save yourself time and money with this easy craft.
Materials:
- Aleene’s Original Tacky Glue
- Plastic eggs
- Fabric strips (I like to tear my strips 1/2″ in width)
- Optional for bunny: metal washer, felt, pompoms. ribbon or crinkles)
Instructions:
- Tear fabric into strips. The narrower strips of fabric lay flatter on the egg.
- Apply Aleene’s Tacky Glue onto end of fabric. Place glued end on tip of egg and begin wrapping top to bottom.
- Continue wrapping around and around until entire egg is covered. Cut off excess fabric strip and glue end to secure.
- You can add trims and appliques to add pretty decorative touches to your fabric eggs!
- To create the bunny egg, glue a washer to the bottom of egg. I glued a piece of fabric over the washer which helps to keep the washer secure. Tear or cut fabric strip, wrap around egg and glue in place. Cut ears from felt and glue in place. Glue eyes, cheeks, nose and white pom poms in place. For arms (paws), cut strip of fabric. Tie knot in center. Glue knot to front of bunny wrapping fabric strip around to back and gluing in place.
