Soccerball Pencil Holder
If your child is into soccer then this is the perfect craft for them to make. Scrapbook papers and embellishments such as stickers, buttons, charms and rub-ons make this craft look amazing.
Materials:
- STYROFOAM™ Brand Foam:
- Scrapbook embellishments: stickers, rub-ons, buttons, charms5" cube
- Scrapbook papers, your choice of theme
- Brass grommets, eight 3/8"
- Scissors or Exacto® knife with new blade
- Ruler
- Pencil
- Thick white craft glue
Steps:
- Measure and cut five, 5 1/8" squares of scrapbook paper.
- Spread glue on one paper square and adhere to foam cube. Trim excess paper. Repeat until top and four sides are covered. (Hint: Papers might appear wavy at first, and will smooth out as the glue dries.)
- Using the tip of an Exacto blade or scissors, make small cuts through the paper on the top of the cube. Insert a pencil through the paper slit and push the pencil straight down 1-1/2" to 2" into the STYROFOAM™ brand foam. Wiggle the pencil to enlarge the holes so that pencils can slip in and out easily.
- Spread glue on reverse side of grommet and push into hole until it rests tight against the top of the cube. Repeat until all 8 grommets are inserted in top of cube.
