Colorful Fabric and Wire Flowers
Add your own Colorful Fabric and Wire Flowers from Linda Peterson to a variety of crafts. You can learn how to make fabric flowers that only use small scraps of fabric. This project is great because it gives you an excuse to get rid of fabric scraps and other odds and ends like buttons and beads. These flower crafts have a whimsical quality to them. Materials:
- 20 gauge wire from hardware store or 1/16” aluminum armature wire
- Needle and coordinating thread color
- Scissors
- Fabric scraps
- Wire cutters
- Pliers
Instructions:

Working off the spool, create a loop with wire of the desired size.

Bend the wire in the opposite direction to create a second loop. Repeat the above steps to create 5 or 6 loops for the flower. Twist end of wire to secure and clip off any remaining wire with wire cutters.

Align fabric to the back side of flower frame and stitch into place with an overcast stitch.

Trim excess fabric from petals leaving a small border.

Repeat for all petals. Use the same technique to create a leaf. Embellish everything with these fun flowers!
