Patriotic 4th of July Banner
Celebrate America with this fun Patriotic 4th of July Banner. Made using red, white, and blue card stock, this banner is lightweight and great for indoor and outdoor decorating. This is also a fun 4th of July project for kids to do with their parents. You can use this banner to add a patriotic touch to your outdoor BBQ or to just celebrate America any time from Memorial Day to Labor Day. Great for crafters of all skill levels, this project is easy and fun and is a great way to spend a lazy crafter-noon!
Materials:
- Double sided cardstock – Red, White & Blue
- 1”, ½” circle punches
- Star punch
- Trimmer
- Craft knife
- Pencil and ruler
- Stapler
Instructions:
- Cut five 4” X 6” pieces of double sided cardstock.
- Cut each piece into a triangle. Find the middle 2” point and draw diagonal lines to each corner.
- Use the first triangle as a template to create the other triangles.
- Embellish each triangle with a different pattern created from patterned papers. Suggested patterns: horizontal, vertical or diagonal strips, layered circles in different sizes and colors, mixed layers of circles and starts.
- Attach the triangle flags to a string or a rope with a stapler.

Love the banner idea! These are great instructions and are also an inspiration to be creative. In addition to the method presented here, you could also use felt or other fabric affixed on the card stock and cover with some decopage for protection. For a very authentic or heirloom patriotic look, you could use the more traditional red, white and flag blue colors in your design. This banner would look stunning on a mantel, a porch railing or even above the serving table. Super idea!
