Simple Spring Magnets
These Simple Spring Magnets from Carmen Flores Tanis for Flores Tanis Studio are a fun and easy craft activity perfect for a rainy day. Just gather your old magnets, some cardboard and you are good to go! Enjoy this fun and inexpensive activity with your kids.
Materials:
- Cardboard (any kind will work)
- Old Magnets (for this project I used those paper thin magnets that advertise local
- businesses)
- White Glue
- Scissors
- Die cut machine & Dies (not necessary but really useful)
- Markers
Instructions:
-
Cut shapes from the cardboard. If you've got access to a die cut machine then this will be super easy. If you don't have one then just use scissors to cut out simpler shapes like squares, rectangles and circles from the cardboard. Cut out different sizes so that you can later stack them.
-
Cut the magnet into smaller squares. These will go onto the backs of the cardboard shapes in the last step.
-
Use the markers to decorate the cardboard shapes. Add polka dots, swirls, your name – have fun with it!
-
Glue several shapes together to make the magnets multi-layered.
-
Glue a cut magnet square to the back and you're done!
